LIVE EASIER: Proven Way to Reduce Stress and Cholesterol

December 24th, 2008 by Susan Kim

Sing it out!!!! . . . well not exactly. . .
I read a about a study where doctors have found that listening to music can improve not only mental health but physical health as well!

Specifically, patients listening to 30 minutes a day of their favorite music is believed to trigger the release of nitric oxide into the bloodstream, which helps to prevent blood clots and harmful cholesterol. Findings showed up to 26% increase in the diameter of blood vessels in a person who listens to enjoyable music. Even though the effects of the music may not last that long, their are accumulative benefits and can be positive for people of all ages.

This study simply amazed me and I had to share it with you.

In a way, it’s kind of no brainer. Most people enjoy a good tune, no matter what “flavor” of music: classical, jazz, pop, hip-hop and rap, etc. We listen for pleasure, because it makes us feel good. And of course when we feel happy and are doing something enjoyable, we’re less likely to feel stress. However, what amazed me, in particular about this study is that it actually PHYSICALLY also manifests this positively by actually triggering a chemical release to protect our bodies!

Now that I think of it, I used to enjoy listening to music and singing in the shower. Lately I’ve been tuning into talk radio, which is not nearly as entertaining or thrilling. . . and you certainly can’t sing to it as easily. . . Perhaps without knowing it, I’ve experienced an increase in stress by taking that morning helping of music out of my life (not to mention the usually upsetting subject matters they discuss on talk radio).

Okay - that’s it. I’m going to get my 30 minute dose of music each day. . .multiple times a day!
I can already feel the stress melting away and my body warming up to the idea as the blood runs more easily through my veins!

What about you?

Make Happiness Yours,
Susan

“No, a verbal agreement, while never a good idea, is still a legally binding obligation. Even though the property is in foreclosure the obligation is still extant until the deed changes hands. In the future you should always get everything in writing particularly in matters of money. In this case your landlord can still require you to honor your end of the agreement as long as you have possession of the domicile. And, if for no other reason, it’s just the right thing to do. Your landlord has enough problems going on.”
